     After living in La Paz as a missionary for several months now, I've realized the importance and blessing of having a team of supporters. During PFO (pre field orientation) this past summer, the founder of NICS, Dr. Joe Hale, shared his perspective on the importance of asking for support as a missionary, which changed my way of viewing this touchy subject. He explained that giving others the opportunity to support us through prayer and financial aide can be such a blessing. He went on to say that since living overseas as a missionary is not a calling for everyone, some people may be called to support missionaries living overseas. He explained that it can be such a blessing for loved ones and friends to have the opportunity to give financially along with prayer support.

Prayer Support:
 
Your support through prayer is such an encouragement and blessing to me. Here's how to best support me prayerfully:
-my acclamation to a new culture, language, community, and school
-dealing with homesickness as I greatly miss family and friends from the States
-my students and their families
-sharing God's word with students, families, and others in the community
-trusting in God's mighty plan and my role in His kingdom


Financial Support:

Each month I receive $420 dollars (after rent is taken out) for food, transportation, Internet and electric bills, and any other expenses. For teachers at Highlands, the suggested amount for monthly support is $500. Financial support will be used to help with my daily expenses, contribute to new materials and books at Highlands, and support local ministries such as Word Made Flesh and ministries through La Paz Community Church.
